Willy Hernandez Percussion

 

Wilfredo Hernandez Perez born  in Havana – Cuba

at the age of 10 played in the famous “ kid’s “ band called Meñique in Cuba lead by Maria Alvarez Rios as musical director . For 5 years they toured through Cuba and worked for National TV.

Studied at the Ignacio Cervantes Concervatorium in Havana-Cuba. During this studies , worked with different salsa-latino groups in Cuba as there were:
Band ALAMO ; salsa DINAMITA and La Banda 21

1998 Came to Belgium , and toured with La Banda 21 , for 3 months through the Benelux 
doing important outdoor festivals.

 

As from 1998 with several well-known Belgian groups as :

 

-BELLE PEREZ ( latino - pop )

-TATTOO DEL TIGRE ( latin jazz mambo – big band ) 
-ACHE HAVANA (salsa-timba)

-The INTERNATIONALS ( ska band)
-CARTEL DE LUXE ( disco/techno/ dance)


-DOBLE IMPACTO ( salsa/merengue /latino) 2001 winner of latin Award Belgium

-PROYECCION LATINA ( merengue, timba) 2004 winner jazz Montreux Festival Award of the best invided group
